plain-looking(ありきたりな)
My girlfriend is plain-looking, but I don’t care.

homely(器量が悪い)
Ann’s boyfriend is homely, but he’s a good person.
↓
unattractive(魅力のない)
She’s so much fun, I don’t mind if she’s unattractive.
↓
ugly(醜い)
She thinks she’s ugly, but she’s not that bad.
